Low-poly 3D models are:
- More convenient to store due to lower file weights
- Prioritizes higher speed and interactivity over detail, so it's ideal for VR, AR, and 3D Viewer
However, due to lower amount of polygons, the model could be less photorealistic than high-poly and it's not suited for HD without loss of image quality.
The most common Low-poly 3D model uses in eCommerce are:
1. 3D viewer, which allows to zoom, flip, and spin any product to get a better look from any angle.
2. AR (augmented reality) which allows placing an item in your chosen environment. For example, to visualize trying a product on or to see how a product fits and looks inside a room.
